The 'Friends' is a society formed in the centenary year of the Devonshire Park Theatre in 1984 whose objective is to 'encourage support for the Devonshire Park Theatre and for Theatre-Going in general.'

There are now nearly 1000 dedicated and enthusiastic 'Friends'.The society organises numerous social occasions including:

• lunches and teas with guest speakers
• trips to regional and West End theatres
• an annual Garden Party to raise money for the Theatre
• opening night receptions with the chance to meet members of visiting companies.

Specially trained volunteer members of The Friends operate the audio description service for the visually impaired at two performances every week and members also assist with stewarding.

Membership

Membership costs £10.00 per year for a single member or £15.00 for two people living at the same address. As well as invitations to Friends social events, membership also entitles you to ticket price concessions (normally about 25%) on first nights at the Devonshire Park Theatre and occasionally at Eastbourne's other theatres.
