Frequently Asked QuestionsFrequently Asked Questions

Where Can I Park?

Since the construction of Eastbourne's new Towner Gallery the car park adjacent to the Congress Theatre has limited parking spaces.

College Road car park (250m away from the Congress Theatre) is unaffected. This is a Pay and Display car park for 200 cars, but is free of charge in the evenings after 6.30pm.

There is also a limited amount of pay and display on-street parking (Please note new parking restrictions came in to force from 20 October 2008 - see the East Sussex County Council website for further information).

Patrons for the Royal Hippodrome can park on surrounding roads.

Where are Parking Spaces for People With Disabilities?

These parking spaces are situated on the slip road between the Congress Theatre main entrance and the Winter Garden - approximately 100 metres to the right of the Congress Theatre's main doors. Patrons can still be dropped off at the doors via this slip road. Spaces are also available behind the new Towner Gallery building.

The Devonshire Park Theatre has limited free parking for disabled drivers.

Can I Buy Eastbourne Theatres Gift Vouchers?

Available from Box Office, Eastbourne Theatres gift vouchers can be purchased in £1 denominations and are valid for one year from purchase date. Vouchers are redemeable for shows at the Congress Theatre, Devonshire Park Theatre, Winter Garden and Royal Hippodrome.

When Do the Doors Open?

Doors open 45 minutes prior to the show commencing (wherever possible) and to the auditorium 30 minutes prior.

What Time Does the Show End?

Please ask box office staff when booking your seats. If the running time is not available please contact us on the day of the show.

What Happens if I'm Late?

If you arrive late you will be admitted to the auditorium at an appropriate break in the performance.

Why do I have to buy a Ticket for my baby?

Eastbourne Theatres operates a 'Babes in Arm' ticket policy for most events.

To comply with fire regulations every person, regardless of age, in the Theatre auditorium must have a valid ticket - if they will be sitting on a seat or in their mother’s arms.

Eastbourne Theatres charge a nominal fee of £2 for events considered suitable for such age groups, otherwise the standard child price applies.

These tickets can only be purchased from Eastbourne Theatres box office, either on the phone or in person on the day/night.
