Devonshire Park Theatre
Sunday 11 November 2012
Join the very popular Len Phillips Big Band and one of Britain’s favourite singers, Anita Harris on this remembrance Sunday to take a nostalgic trip back to the war years, and even a little earlier.
Once again hear the music which raised this country’s spirits when it was at a very low ebb. Anita spent a lot of time with Harry Secombe visiting Troops in Hospitals and on the battle field and her military connections mean a lot to her. She will be presenting the show in addition to singing many of the memorable songs that were associated with that time.
The acclaimed Len Phillips Big Band will also be joined by vocalist, Anton Browne. Expect the great swing era sounds from both sides of the Atlantic - Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra and, of course, Vera Lynn.
