Christmas is Coming to the Congress MOVIE Theatre

Christmas will be coming to the Congress MOVIE Theatre this year with the announcement that a season of festive treats and movie musicals are going on sale today 13th November. With the ease of lock-down in December it’s a chance to reclaim some of 2020, make plans for Christmas - and give the Crimbo jumper a public airing!

The selection of especially curated movies will include a week of Christmas favourites such as Home Alone, Nativity! and Elf from Friday 18 December along with a mini-season of classic musicals including Greatest Showman and West Side Story from Tuesday 8 December. Plus A Star is Born (4 December, 7.30pm), Lion King (5 December, 3pm) and Die Hard (5 December, 7.30pm).

For musicals week films its: West Side Story (8 December, 2.30pm), Moulin Rouge (9 December, 7.30pm), Bohemian Rhapsody (10 December, 7.30pm), Mamma Mia! (11 December, 7.30pm) and The Greatest Showman (12 December, 2.30pm and 6pm).

The tickets go on sale online on Friday 13 November priced at just £8 for adults and £5 for children, all bookings come with a covid-cancellation guarantee, if a film cannot go ahead due to covid-related reasons ticket holders will be eligible for a refund.

The Congress MOVIE Theatre which was launched over the October half-term saw hundreds of people return to the venue to enjoy films on the big screen. Audiences said “We felt very safe” (J Tice – Facebook) and “A GREAT way to watch a movie” (philhobden.co.uk).
